I worked with Music Generation Cork to design a strategic report that captures the work they’re doing across Cork.
They run performance music programmes for children and young people, teaming up with local musicians and community groups to bring music into everyday spaces — schools, neighbourhoods, and community centres. That approach has led to some brilliant outcomes, including the rise of Kabin Krew — a group of young performers from Knocknaheeny who gained national attention and became a great example of what can happen when access to music is done right.
The content itself was strong, but like most strategic reports, it needed a bit of structure to make it easier to take in. After chatting with the team, I landed on the idea of old reel-to-reel tapes as a visual thread — something a bit nostalgic to contrast with the energy of the young artists featured throughout, and helped guide the reader through the document without it feeling heavy. I introduced a clearer hierarchy, broke things into more manageable sections, and used visual pacing to keep it moving.
The result is a report that feels straightforward and easy to read, while still reflecting the energy and community focus at the core of what they do.
